The park requires a permit for use of the Fern Canyon Loop Trail + Gold Bluffs Beach Day Use Area between May 1st and September 30th - permits are needed ahead of time!
To gain access to the trail you must pay $12/vehicle (cash or check only) to enter or use an America the Beautiful Pass, California's State Parks Annual or Poppy Pass, or a current California State Parks campground reservation!
